Information about the Journal on the site includes author guidelines, editorial board and staff contact information, and subscription rates. Services include online subscription ordering, email alerts, a subject area index, and online letters to the editor.

Online full-text content begins with the January 2000 issue, and will expand each month. Abstracts are online beginning with the January 1975 issue, and tables of contents are online beginning with the January 1971 issue. Older articles are available through Proquest electronic archives and APHA text archives

Each issue is placed online approximately on the date the print copy is mailed to subscribers, so the online site content may appear days ahead of your receipt of the paper copy. In addition, the table of contents of the upcoming issue is regularly placed online as a future table of contents.

Access to full text is free to APHA members as a member benefit. Both personal and institutional subscriptions are available as well. Pay-per-view and site pass access to full text is available to other readers.
