How to Obtain Permission
To Use AJPH Content
And Other APHA Materials
PLEASE NOTE: photocopying of APHA copyrighted material for other than personal or internal reference use without the expressed permission of APHA is prohibited. Reprints or Eprints must be purchased if you intend to distribute copies of an AJPH article or other APHA publication
Requests for special permission to include APHA copyrighted material in another publication should be made in writing and sent to:

Processing time for requests is generally less than a week, but may be longer in the late summer and early autumn months when APHA is busy with Annual Meeting preparations.
APHA charges a fee if its material will be used for advertising or promotional purposes, for use in a new or revised commercial publication, or for creating new collective works. APHA will consider waiving this fee if material will be used in a thesis or for other noncommercial purposes. We do not charge a fee for the use of abstracts.
Fee scale
· For print:
$35 per page of text or per table, figure, or photo
$20 for text, etc., printed between 1971 and 1985
$10 for text, etc., printed between 1951 and 1970
$0 for materials printed in 1950 or earlier
· For electronic media (including CD-ROM, Websites,
Intranets)
$55 per page of text or table, figure, or photo.
Payment will be due after permission is granted. Details for payment will be included with the permission statement we send when we process a request.
