About the Cover
Cover. As the number of older Americans grows, so does the need for research and interventions that support the health and well-being of this population. The emphasis on well-being is crucial, for older people such as those pictured here make it abundantly clear that the final decades of life can be active, productive, creative, and pleasurable. Public health over the life course includes, therefore, a concern with both the health care needs people develop as they age as well as the opportunities and resources required to enable older adults to live meaningful, stimulating, and fulfilled lives.
